WANDA FILM(002739.SZ) and IMAX CHINA (01970.HK) announced that they will further deepen their strategic cooperation, while WANDA FILM will upgrade up to 27 existing special effects theaters across China to IMAX theaters by the end of 2029. In June 2024, both parties reached a cooperation agreement to upgrade 61 IMAX theaters and renew up to 37 IMAX theaters for five years, with plans to add up to 25 IMAX screens within 4 years. The strategic cooperation with WANDA FILM continued to deepen, reflecting IMAX's popularity in China, Daniel Manwaring, CEO of IMAX CHINA, said.
