IMD World Competitiveness Ranking 2025: HK Rises to 3rd Place, Just Behind Switzerland/ SG

The International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland, released the "World Competitiveness Ranking 2025," in which Hong Kong's ranking has risen from fifth to third, just behind Switzerland and Singapore.

Hong Kong showed comprehensive improvement across 4 major competitiveness factors, naming economic performance, business effectiveness, government effectiveness and infrastructure, reflecting the city's extensive measures to attract private enterprise investment, the report said.

The report suggested that Hong Kong needs further improvement in auditing and accounting practices for businesses.
